Equality Collection Series Queen Bee Review

Hello Gorgeous Creatures!

Happy Saturday! It’s officially time to take a look at the fourth shade in this collection — Queen Bee! This shade is a stunning yellow. The colour is so bright and rich; I’m really excited because all of the other colours were amazingly pigmented, hopefully this one is too!! When removing the wand I noticed the formula was really thick like it was with the shade Flamethrower. I removed quite a bit of excess product before application.

Wow, this colour is bright! It doesn’t apply quite as thick as the Flamethrower formula despite being about the same thickness. There is still a lot of colour there, but it took two coats to really hide the natural colour of my lips underneath. It went on really smooth, and once it set, left my lips feeling velvety soft.

Immediately after application

Now, about 20 minutes after I applied the product I checked the look in the bathroom mirror. There was already some minor wearing of the product along the centre of my lips. Comparing the two pictures now I’m noticing the colour had faded a bit too, it wasn’t nearly as bright (Maybe that’s my crappy camera though).

20 minutes after application

I didn’t apply a touch up at this point. I went on with my morning. An hour an a half later I was about to leave for work so I checked the mirror. There was definitely more deterioration of the formula on my lips.

Approximately 2 hours after application

So as you may be able to see in the picture above, it started to take on an almost gritty type of appearance. It almost looked like there was a fine sand over my lips. Where the product had started to fade near the centre, it was almost completely gone. When I touched my lips together, it almost felt like there was a light exfoliater on them. I added the tiniest amount of product to try to smooth the look out.

3 hours after application

When I checked the mirror at work that is what I saw. I was not impressed and didn’t have the ability or desire to touch it up every hour, so I wiped it all off. Overall, as a lip product, I’m giving this shade a 2/10 because it really just did not work for me. Once again, maybe it’s better as an eyeliner, all of these shades are completely eye safe so I’ll have to try that out eventually.

Thanks for checking the latest review of Queen Bee. I’m really sad that this shade was a flop for me but you know what, not every formula works for every person. Maybe you tried it and it worked it out. Drop a comment below, let me know what you think or if you had different results. Can’t wait to share the next post in the series with you tomorrow morning!
